STUDENTS FROM BANDUNG INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (ITB)
MADE COLORFUL CEREMONY OF INDONESIAN
INDEPENDENCE DAY AT THE INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR’S
RESIDENCE IN BUDAPEST
On
August 17, 2007 at 10 am, more than 200 guest
from Indonesia society and distinguish guests
such as the ambassadors from ASEAN countries in
Budapest, famous businessman, representatives
from Hungarian Foreign Ministry and governmental
institutions, and some journalists attended the
ceremony of the Anniversary of 62nd Proclamation
of Indonesian Independence Day followed by
cultural and entertainment activities at the
residence of Indonesian Ambassador in Budapest
The
32 students from business and management school
of ITB performed 4 traditional dances such as
Yapong Dance, Ngarojeng Dance, Zapin Dance and
Saman Dance. The audiences especially the
foreign guests were amazed by their performance
due to their attractive movement and also unique
choreography. As we know that Saman Dance from
Aceh mostly performed by sitting position but
these students modified the dance by standing
and also rolling movement.
In
his speech, Indonesian Ambassador for Hungary, H
E. Mangasi Sihombing asked the Indonesian
society to keep the unity and also take real
step to improve the bilateral relation between
Indonesia and Hungary. For the foreign guests
the Indonesian Ambassador explained the
Indonesian’s struggle to fight against the
colonialism to obtain the freedom which is the
right of all the nations in the world.
In
the occasion of cutting the yellow rice cone (nasi
tumpeng) after the flag raising ceremony, the
Indonesian Ambassador gave the nasi tumpeng to
the Philippines Ambassador, H.E. Alejandro D.
Del Rosario as the Dean of ASEAN and to Director
of EXIM Bank, Dr. Zoltán Bodnár and the youngest
diplomat in Indonesia Embassy, Ms Ingan Malem.
After ITB performance, there was Indonesian
traditional costume parade which was shown by 18
models, members of Indonesian society in
Hungary and also home staff of the embassy. The
cat walk showed the traditional costume from
almost Indonesia region such as Karo, Tapanuli,
South Sumatera, West Sumatera, Celebes (Sulawesi),
Maluku, East Borneo (Kalimanta), Central and
West Java, then Betawi (Jakarta). The diversity
and unique of the traditional costume had
astonish the guests.
Especially for the Indonesian children who
attended the ceremony, The Indonesian Ambassador
told an Indonesian children fairy tale, Keong
Mas with main actor Candra Kirana.
